1. What is HELM?
HELM is our control panel that has many uses and allows you to have control over your hosting account. You can do the following tasks in your control panel:
- Create FTP accounts
- Change billing details and settle invoices
- Create DSN connections to databases
- View your disk usage
- Set up mail accounts
- Create mail aliases/forwarders/autoresponders
- and lots more

2. How do I add an email address?
Creating a new email mailbox through your HELM hosting control panel is very simple:
- Login to your control panel
- Click the Domains graphic
- Click the domain you want to add the mailbox to
- Click the Email Accounts (POP3) graphic
- Click the Add New button
- enter the name of the mailbox e.g. paul for paul@yourdomain.com
- enter a password for the mailbox and confirm it
- Click the Save button
The mailbox is now added to your domain. You can add further settings such as an autoresponder or store and forward the email to another address.

Now just add this new email account to your computer in the normal way or access the email through the web interface.

3. What are the mailservers I need?
All our hosting accounts include access to POP3/IMAP and SMTP mailservers for sending and receiving email through an email client such as Outlook, Eudora etc. Your POP3/IMAP & SMTP servers are as follows:

POP3/IMAP Server: mail.yourdomain.com
SMTP Server: mail.yourdomain.com

You can if you wish use your ISP's SMTP Server.

Replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name.

Note: Remember to ensure that you enable SMTP authentication if you are using our SMTP mailserver and make sure that the outgoing / SMTP port number is 587.
